**SUMMARY**

The Tool and Material Shop Hand at Firefly Aerospace will support the execution of Manufacturing Orders in the Firefly Machine Shop by managing the organization and preparation of tools required for machine setup. This role works in close concert with Machinists, Manufacturing Engineers, CNC programmers, and shop management to ensure that all manufacturing orders have tooling and material prepared before the machining begins. **The Manufacturing Facility is located in Briggs, TX, north of Cedar Park.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Gather and prepare tools, material, and inspection equipment for machine setup.

* Keep all material racks and storage locations organized and clearly labelled for traceability.

* Keep all tooling cabinets and storage bins organized and clearly labelled to minimize lost time.

* Process all material preparation and picking paperwork in the material ERP system.

* Run the material prep band saw for upcoming orders.

* Assist receiving clerks with material transfers into the machine shop storage locations.

* Coordinate with machinists to replenish tools or provide alternate tooling for jobs that are running.

* Maintain a log of open tooling and material orders.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Required**

* High school diploma or GED

* 1+ year of experience working in a machine shop or similar environment.

* Experience with basic hand tools

* Experience processing orders in shipping, receiving, packaging, and warehouse operations.

**Desired**

* 2 years of experience in a machine shop or industrial setting.

* Forklift operating experience

* A desire to learn about machining or manufacturing.

**Additional Requirements**

* Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

* Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

* Must be available for overtime and weekend hours
