Atlas Technical Consultants (Atlas) provides construction management, materials testing, inspection, engineering, environmental and consulting services out of 12 offices across Texas and 150 offices nationwide. We deliver solutions to public and private sector clients in the transportation, commercial, education, healthcare, water, government, and industrial markets. We are a great company. Come join us!


The successful candidate will have excellent customer service & communication skills (both verbal & written); possess outstanding follow through skills; highly reliable & dependable; Computer proficient; and the ability to handle emergency situations. Previous construction industry experience is a plus and specific dispatch experience in material testing & construction inspections is ideal. However, Atlas is willing to train a candidate possessing an aptitude and desire to learn new skills. Hours for this position are from 7:30 AM 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Also, a dispatch cell phone will be with you at all times for after business hours calls.


  • Actively and efficiently dispatches staff during work hours
  • Answers incoming telephone calls from clients/contractors
  • Schedules staff to multiple jobsites
  • Maintain and distribute electronic schedule
  • Coordinates paperwork for project set ups
  • Updates database
  • Creates and maintains electronic documents
  • Provide administrative assistance to field personnel
  • Provide administrative support to supervisor
  • Set up new projects


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Schedule field personnel on a daily basis. Receive, record, and distribute inspection and testing requests to inspectors. Take calls/emails from clients and contractors for inspection and testing requests. Record information such as project name, location of jobsite or shop where work is to be performed, time and date the work is to be performed, what equipment will be necessary for the project, a description of items to be inspected and/or tested and review all project details with the client/contractor.
  • Prepare the work order, enter information into the computer and communicate dispatch as appropriate, and if necessary, with the project manager or project engineer. Decide which personnel are qualified to perform tasks and make decisions regarding daily assignments. Schedule the service call and assign appropriate personnel as necessary, with proper equipment, to the jobsite. Coordinate equipment deliveries and pick-ups with inspectors and the Equipment Manager. Follow-up and verify that all samples were picked up. Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews, sample pick-up drivers and other departments as needed.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Construction knowledge a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
